A Man’s Unseen

At one time in his eyes she saw fear

His body held the tightness of tension the fears of remission

His mouth held closed the unbearable “what if’s” never to be exposed

And then she saw a sparkle, a twinkle of hope in those beautiful eyes

His body let go no longer afraid

From his mouth came the words of a world he once feared

Then one day it all changed. He changed

In his eyes a new fear that might one day cast a tear

He held close a pillow to substitute her form

Wishing he could call out and bring her home

He promised her love. Never forgotten

Promised security. Kept her safe from harm

But she had a dream, not his own

He never promised to se as she saw

Her cares were not his

At the door there came a knock…
